A Thousand Little Trees of Blood

In University I had a friend who took everything to a very severe level, and that included crushes and relationships. She had decided to thrust a man between us and instead of being honest about her feelings she took out her internal frustrations on my friendship with him. Jealousy is an emotion that I experience myself and have always been at the mercy of from others, and in a world where we still have "I hate men"-isms, I feel that we don't allow women to be evil or dangerous enough as regular humans experiencing normal hatred or emotions-gone-bad on screen.

Director. Lorenza De Benedictis

is a Canadian filmmaker of Italian heritage with an interest in drama, documentary and experimental film work - but she doesn’t really believe in limiting art to a genre. She splits her time between Gooshlems and her boutique production company, Waddling Duck, which she established in 2023 and houses her award winning thesis film, Cod Story. Her passions lie in travelling, and she has made work in Canada as well as Italy, with plans to make more internationally.
